The Tub Guys have helped hundreds/thousands of Twin Cities homeowners give new life to their tired tubs and shower surrounds. Here’s a closer look at our tub refinishing process.

1. Request and Accept Quote

The first step of our tub refinishing process is to review and accept our quote. You can request a quote right on our website or give us a call at 612-239-5835. We’ll take this opportunity to learn more about your project, including whether or not your tub has been refinished previously, the tub material, and whether or not your tub’s surround requires refinishing, too. Once you receive our quote for your project, review it and ask us any questions you might have before you accept it.

2. Schedule Your Tub Refinishing Appointment

Once you’ve accepted our quote, it’s time to get your project on our calendar. We’ll have a quick call with you to settle on the day and time that works best. Our tub refinishing process takes half a day to complete, so we will book you for an early morning appointment or afternoon appointment. Our schedule is typically booked out about two to three weeks, though this is subject to change.

3. Prepare Your Bathroom

As your appointment with us approaches, take some time to prepare your bathroom. If your bathroom has a window, please remove the screen so we can use our equipment to safely ventilate the space and eliminate dust and odors during the process. If your bathroom does not have a window, any window within 25 feet of the bathroom will work. Please leave your tub’s drain installed for your tub refinishing appointment.

4. Take Your Last Shower or Bath

Since there is cure time on your new tub finish, don’t forget to take a shower or bath before your tub refinishing appointment!

5. Wait 24 to 48 Hours Before Using Your Tub

Once we leave your home, your tub will need a minimum of 24 hours of cure time, though 48 hours is ideal. Please keep your home at least 68 degrees while your tub cures. Once the curing time has passed, , silicon your tub and wait the recommended time for the silicon they it is safe to use your tub again.

6. Take Care of Your Newly Refinished Tub

The Tub Guys want to help you extend the life of your newly refinished tub. The truth is, harsh cleaners are a major source of damage to bathtubs, as they create tiny cuts in the tub’s surface that trap oils, dirt, and other grime.

Here’s what we tell our customers: If you would be willing to use a product and the applicator on bathroom mirror, go ahead and use it on your tub. If you wouldn’t use a scrubber or cleaning agent on your mirror, then it is too abrasive for your tub, too. We can recommend products that will safely clean your tub so you can enjoy it year after year.

7. Review Tub Guys

Once we’ve completed refinishing your tub, we’d love to hear how we did! Please consider sharing your experience with us on Google. Thanks in advance! >
